Common questions

How do my bowlers see the live results?

Open your event on the iPad, go to the Settings tab, and you’ll find a QR code and a short join code. Print the poster right from the iPad and hang it at the counter — bowlers scan it (or type the code at viewer.bowlingsideaction.com) and follow everything live on their phones. Nothing to install.

What happens when a bracket doesn’t fill?

Bracket generation fills as many complete 8-bowler brackets as entries allow. Anyone left over is listed separately so you can refund those entries before the first ball — no partial brackets, no IOUs.

Can two people run events at the same bowling center?

Yes — every director has their own account (Sign in with Apple), and each account only sees its own events. Two different events just can’t share the same name, center, and date.

A score was entered wrong. Can I fix it?

Yes — unlock the game on the Enter Scores tab, correct the score, and lock it again. Brackets, eliminators, high game standings, and payouts all recalculate automatically.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Settings tab → Delete Account. It permanently removes your account and every event you’ve created — from the app and the live viewer — immediately. There is no way to undo it.

Where does my data live?

Events sync securely to the cloud, so your event survives an iPad dying mid-tournament — sign in on another iPad and keep going. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
